www.nomadicsamuel.com Khmer people (ខ្មែរ, English pronunciation: /ˈkmɛər/ or /kəˈmɛər/) are the predominant ethnic group in Cambodia, accounting for approximately 90% of the 14.8 million[1] people in the country. They speak the Khmer language, which is part of the larger Mon-Khmer language family found throughout Southeast Asia. The majority of the Khmer are followers of the Khmer style of Buddhism, a highly syncretic version which blends elements of Theravada Buddhism, Hinduism, animism and ancestor-spirit worship.[5] Significant populations of Khmers reside in adjacent areas of Thailand (Northern Khmer) and the Mekong Delta region of neighboring Vietnam (Khmer Krom).

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Nha Trang, Vietnam by TravelPod blogger Sherberts2 titled "Oh no - rain, rain and more rain" Sherberts2's travel blog entry: "Nha Trang Thursday 15.4.2010 We arrive at our hotel, our room is two flights up and there isn't a lift and we unpack. We do the usual chores -- washing, ironing and by 08.00 we are on the beach which is about five minute walk away. The beach is beautiful, clean and where we sit under the shade of beach umbrellas very smooth as if it has been swept.

My whole time in Laos the people had been nothing but polite and friendly and it suddenly clicked that he wasn't Laos but Vietnamese.

I stayed at a small place with only 4 bungalows run by a Belgian guy . There were huge lizards and frogs in my room eating all the bugs, so I was happy for the company
Darkest Isan (where decent thais fear to tread), Part Eight This sleepy little provincial town was once part of the Lan Xang Kingdom of Lao and later a picturesque retreat for French colonists. A mix of the old and new, or perhaps I should say old and new money as the affluent architecture of the past is joined by affluent architecture of the present. The immaculate modern foreshore gives uninterrupted kilometre after kilometre of the most stunning views of the Mekong I’ve seen on either side of the river
