In 2011, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Jordan partnered with Al Al Bayt University in Mafraq to sponsor their annual "Diversity Week", which encourages the values of understanding, openness, acceptance, and tolerance. On October 25, university students from Jordan, Syria, Thailand, Malaysia, Syria, Indonesia, Senegal, and Palestine set up displays of their native cultures for all students and staff to see. In addition to sponsoring the Diversity Week fair, two days prior USAID organized a marathon for 150 students and brought USAID and US Embassy representatives to the campus to teach students more about USAID's support for the development of Jordan.

Martial arts masters from many countries such as Japan, Korea, USA, China, Israel and Thailand are strongly showing their support for this event by voluntarily performing their country's martial arts for the added benefits of peace, unity and brotherhood. Los Angeles, CA June 19, 2010 -- The highly anticipated and inaugural United States Martial Arts Festival™ 2010 will be held July 18, 2010 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center located in the City of Redondo Beach of Los Angeles. With plenty of free parking, the doors will open at 2:00 pm, and the various presentations and martial arts demonstrations will run from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. My Thoughts on Oils Companies and Weak Governments.

I think you would have to live under a rock and not have a computer or access to a TV or newspaper if you didn’t know about the current oil spill taking place in the Gulf of Mexico after The Deepwater Horizon platform exploded and then sank two days later on April 22nd. This happened 24klms of the Louisiana’s coast and sadly killed 11 workers. It is a terrible tragedy and now an environmental disaster looks imminent

Preparing for Judgement Day in Thailand

The tension is rising in Thailand as we have now started the countdown to Judgement Day on Friday 26th February 2010. The red shirts have already started their protests though so far the yellow shirts have decided to stay at home. If that is true then any riots on the streets of Bangkok next week should be limited with, hopefully, minimal casualties

Plain of Jars - Now & Then

Fourteen year ago I crossed the border from Thailand into Lao for the first time and visited the Plain of Jars, then one of the remotest places on earth. Over the next few years I was to cross the Thai/Lao border a further six times, these visits finished 11 years ago. Many times I considered going back but was always put off by not wanting to spoil my memories of this idyllic little rural nation.
