We started www.thailandvoice.com at a time when there was no comprehensive blogroll for blogs about Thailand. The only sites listing Thai blogs also listed blogs from around the world. There was no one site that was dedicated to promoting blogs from Thailand. With Thailand Voice we surf the Internet daily looking for quality articles about Thailand.
One of my favourite websites is our own www.thailandguidebook.com . It started as a student project where they put together information on every province in Thailand. A large group of students worked together to type up information provided to us by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). It was a simple site with no high ambitions but the Lonely Planet for Thailand gave us a good plug in their guidebook.
One of the first Thai bloggers in Thailand was Panrit “Gor” Daoruang who started back in 1997 when he was only 12 years old. He was blogging about his daily life at a time when people didn’t really know what blogs were all about. For him it started as a school project to write a mini website which had at least six pages which described in words and pictures his life in Thailand. Most students left it at that, but as it turned out, Gor had a lot more to write about.
Thailand has many natural and man-made wonders that are worthing visiting if you are on holiday in Thailand. Some of these are well-known to tourists while others are more off the beaten path. If you have ever been to any of these “wonders” then we would like you to help vote for what you think should be the “wonder of the year”. Votes are automatically updated every day and the competition will finish at the end of the year
Many of the websites in the Paknam Web Network are non-commercial. We don’t make them to make any money but do them as a hobby site. Basically we make them as they are subjects that we are personally interested in
