It is very hot standing in the sun where it is very crowded. Luckily I am standing in a place where it has less people plus I am standing in the front of those people. The bridge, where I am standing, is made from wood and I am not sure that it will be strong enough for a lot of people like this or not. I am a little scared that it might break and I will fall down into the water
There hasn’t been a lot of excitement lately, here in Isaan, Thailand. Life has been just cruising along. I blogged that I was a little unwell the other day, well I just felt off colour.
Today I had to go to school again even though it was Sunday, we have had teacher training the last few days so it has meant no break over the weekend. Today was also a special day, so I had to leave the teacher training early (I was upset) and go out for lunch. It was Miss Noot’s birthday. We ventured to a lovely little restaurant near our house for a quiet lunch
I had reported on our Wai Khruu Day or pay respect to teachers here in Isaan Thailand. I have blogged about making our way to our destination where the ceremony was being held and also the full practice ceremony that was taking place. Finally after an hour and a half of practice, the real ceremony started
Last week I wrote about our school having its Wai Khru Day or when students pay their respects to teachers across Thailand. We had gone to the Sunee Grand Hotel to the conference centre to hold this ceremony and after students had been through an hours practice I had made my way out of the room. Outside were some of our school’s Thai dancers, they were rehearsing their dance for the ceremony
I haven’t blogged for a few days; I have been very busy and had hardly any spare time. There have been many things I wanted to do but haven’t been able too. I want to get back to the Sunee Grand Hotel and take some more pictures of the health and fitness centre and water park , also the new ten pin bowling alley
This is a strange sight, a tent in front of our sport hall. The reason for this was, it was years 12 student’s scout camp.
Each new school year brings tears for parents and also young students. A few of the small primary one students, for the first few days will be tearful, upset and will take a little time to settle into the life of a real student. It is a big step from kindergarten to primary school. Some make the transformation easily and others it can be a daunting experience
Well I have survived the first 3 days back at school. I am settling in and getting back to the grind. I am really lucky this year as I don’t have to do too many lesson plans as I have them from the last few years teaching the same level. This means all worksheets and step by step procedures are just at a fingertip away.
