Similan islands are a group of a douzin or so small islands in Thailand's Andaman Sea, 64 km west of Khao Lak. Excursions are organised from Khao Lak ,but also further afield (Phuket etc). The islands are a diver's paradise with a massive underwater fauna , including manta rays, sea turtles and everything you may have seen in a tropical aquarium. Accomodation for an overnight stay varies from a bungalow (pre booked) or a tent, as was our case.
