Night Tour and Show at Ancient Siam

Last night I was invited to visit Ancient Siam in Samut Prakan for their night tour and dinner theatre. This is not a regular feature but a special event for this weekend and next weekend on 14-16th May 2010.

How to Win a Game of DONKEY, Isaan Thailand.

The human brain is a funny thing. It is an amazing thing. I don’t use mine enough at times but the other night for some reason I came up with a great idea

Basketball and Relaxing, Isaan Thailand.

I haven’t posted for a while. A lack of inspiration and also I haven’t been doing a lot. I am enjoying holidays by spending lots of time with my niece Nong Ja, catching up on dvds and also reading books that I hadn’t got around to reading yet. I have been going to the park with another expat in the mornings; we arrive at 6am and then proceed to do a few laps of the park.

Erawan & Sai Yok Noi, Kanchanaburi. On the Beaten Track, Part 2

Erawan Erawan National Park Often more resembling a bank holiday weekend at the public swimming pool than a tranquil beauty spot, Erawan is still one of most stunning places in Thailand. Each of the seven tiers of the waterfall are quite swimmable, complete with carnivorous fish, cooling turquoise colour waters and thronging masses of local sightseers. Avoiding going there on a bank holiday or weekend can be a good strategy. The waterfall itself is well worth dedicating a whole day to, each tier of the waterfall is impressive in its own right and completely different giving the experience of seeing 7 waterfalls in a day.

The Giant Krabak Tree

I’ve been a way for a while, but here I am with a new travel report. I planned for several months to visit Taksin Maharat National Park (named after a former king of Thailand) in Tak province where the Giant Krabak Tree is growing. Some previous research told me that the Giant Krabak tree (anisoptera costata) is a species of plant of the  dipterocarpacease family.

Wild Crocodiles surface in Khao Yai

Pha Khluaymai hill and a portion of Lam Takhong creek in Khao Yai National park in Nakhon Ratchasima have been closed temporarily after a report of two large crocodiles sighted. Photo by Steve, Tanja & Leon @ Flickr Two teams of forest rangers have been dispatched in both closed areas to look out for the two reptiles, which are identical and thought to be of a freshwater species, and hunt them down, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation said yesterday. Park director Manote Karnphanakngarn said ten warning signs had been erected and four rangers stationed in the both areas to warn tourists abou the crocodiles. Mother’s Day at Ancient Siam

This morning I visited Ancient Siam (formerly Ancient City) in Samut Prakan for their annual Mother’s Day activity. Over the last four or five years, the management have been organizing many different kinds of events at the park during all major holidays. Today is a public holiday for H.M. The Queen’s birthday

Amazing Thailand Photo Quiz

Yesterday we packed the truck and headed a few clicks south on highway 4 in Thailand to revisit Wanakorn National Park. It was a great day sitting on the beach, eating alfresco and observing a little wildlife. I managed to get a few half decent photographs as well.
