Thailand: Dynosaur Fossil
Place: Sirindhorn Museum, Kalasin Province

One of the less known museums in Bangkok is the Royal Thai Air Force Museum. It can be found on Phahon Yothin Road which is on the eastern side of Don Muang Airport. I was in the area at the weekend visiting Rangsit Floating Market and so took the opportunity to drop in on this museum.

In the old days, before movies and T.V. soap operas, people were entertained with Nang Talung. This is the art of shadow puppets that first became popular in Southern Thailand two or three generations ago. It has since spread to other parts of Thailand, like the north-east, but many people still see it as an art form from the south.

Darkest Isan (where decent thais fear to tread), Part Nine For the Americans reading is this blog, Ho Chi Minh is that damn pinko “grrr!” who as TV and Hollywood have proven on celluloid really didn’t kick the arse of the US army after all. For people in the rest of the world he was leader who fought to free his country from French, Japanese and US oppression. For we Londoners he’s a local boy done good

Darkest Isan (where decent thais fear to tread), Part Six I first hit Mukdahan 12 years ago, arrived at the bus station, took a tuk tuk through the town along Mekong road past the Indo-Chinese market, thought this looks interesting I must really visit this place someday, arrived at the ferry port and got on a boat to Savannaket in Lao. I’m sure on some planets in the cosmos 12 years counts as soon, so I’m back as promised. Barely large enough to warrant the title town, this ragged little hamlet is best described as feeling like a seaside resort in the winter, the riverside markets and shops outnumbering the customers

The latest museum to open in Bangkok, called the Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall , is probably also one of the best. Located on Ratchadamnoen Road, it is not your traditional kind of museum. It is very much interactive and hands-on and uses modern techniques to teach you about the history of Bangkok in an entertaining way. The name of the exhibition hall comes from the original name of the capital before it was changed to “Krungthep Mahanakorn”.

TOUR2 : Bang Nampheung Floating Market, The Erawan Museum, Reclining Buddha at Bang Phli and finishing with a meal at sunset at the Bang Pu Seaside Resort. Samut Prakan Province is sandwiched between Bangkok and the Gulf of Thailand. As it is so close to the capital of Thailand it doesn’t receive many independent travellers. Most people see it as just the suburbs.

Asia Pattaya Hotel: Hotels in Pattaya, Thailand
Located about 3 kilometers south of Pattaya on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, the Asia Pattaya is for vacationers thinking of a glorious vacation in their own private paradise. Inside, comfort to spare, with luxurious rooms and suites, with a breathtaking view of the sea or the tropical wooded hills, restaurants, lounges and live entertainment. Outside, a mile long warm, golden beach, along with all the swimming, sailing and sun imaginable

The Dusit Resort: Hotels in Pattaya, Thailand
The hotel provides 462 stylishly-appointed guestrooms, and has a private location in Chonburi, along the Gulf of Siam. Offering guests a secluded atmosphere, the Dusit Resort is still just 12 km from Pattayas city center, so guests have easy access to such tourist attractions as the Ripleys Believe it or Not Museum, a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, and the Pattaya beaches. There are many dining options available for guests, including The Peak, a great Chinese restaurant on the ninth ...

I had gone to check on the International Wax Sculpting Competition the other day, and while there I thought I would pop across the road to Wat Sri Ubon Rattanaram or Wat Sri Thong. I am sorry for the crooked picture, very bad photography. This is the main Wiharn/Viharn
