Ben Starr explores Phra Nang Cave on the beach of the same name in Railay, Thailand near Krabi. This is one of the craziest things I've ever seen in my life! A cave filled with wooden penises of all sizes, from the size of a pencil, to over 8 feet long! They are actually offerings from fishermen to the Princess of the Sea, in hopes that she will grant them a bountiful catch each year. Young women who are trying to get pregnant will also come to the cave to pray. Phra Nang Beach itself is just about the most beautiful beach anywhere, but the Cave of Penises makes it just that much more fascinating!
I think anyone living in Thailand and reads newspapers or browses the English based newspapers will recognise the picture above. It created outrage and social networks raged for days after this picture was published in Thai papers.

Well things have been quiet the last few days; Miss Noot and Nong Ja have gone away. Noot is visiting her mother and then off to see her relatives a 150klms away. So the two girls in my life gone makes the house very quiet, but not such a bad thing every now and then

That was the effects of the recent quake more then a week ago on 24 Mar 2011 that happened in Myanmar measuring 7.0. During that night, I felt giddy and doubted my health.

We found a quiet area at the South end of the beach where you don't get too bothered by the beach vendors.
