Stevosteve's travel blog entry: "I woke up and grabbed a reasonably priced late morning English breakfast, I haven't really found any sense of a Thai breakfast despite the local fruit/smoothie offered by outlets and mobile bike services. Afterwards I spent some time trying to get some colour on the beach but with little luck, still very warm and overcast though. Another lengthy swim in the sea, I forgot how peaceful and tranquil it is especially in these easy, weak current conditions. I forgot to mention in the previous entry that there have been nightly downpours of torrential proportions that don't last the presumed 15-20 minutes but last for hours so the water is not as crystal clear as it could be

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Ko Samui, Thailand by TravelPod blogger Danandcarl titled "Fire and Elephants" Danandcarl's travel blog entry: "The usual assortment of buses and boats eventually took us to Chaweng beach in Ko Samui where we enjoyed 6 days of relaxation broken only by the constant stream of vans mounted with speakers declaring "Tonight, Tonight, Chaweng beach Stadium, best of the best, champion vs champion, fight of the year!" (amazing that it was fight of the year every night!) - eventually they broke us and we decided that we really fancied going to watch some Thai boxing but after finding the "Stadium" we laughed at the 1200 Baht (20 pounds each!) price tag and just went for a beer and watched a fire show instead. Our first 3 nights had been pre booked into a nice looking guesthouse but after finding our feet and realising we could get somewhere just as nice for half the price we moved into the rose and crown pub where we lived, ate, watched football and generally didn't leave, only problem that the owner was a spurs fan and took great joy in watching the Chelsea game with me! On the plus side they did a great roast dinner! (Our first for 8 weeks!). Deciding we needed to do more, we booked a day trip around the Island that involved a mummified monk named Phra Khru Samathakittikhun, an elephant show and ride, a crocodile show, swimming at the bottom of a waterfall, Samui secret garden (full of weird statues), some off-road driving ...
