Well today something out of the ordinary happened; this morning was going as per usual at school. I arrived early and started organising my day and then I had a couple of parents wanting to speak to me. Well I am back at school, back to work sadly. This was the first year I really struggled to get motivated to go back to teaching. Even 1 week out before we started the term, I was seriously thinking of not going back.

The other day at school I arrived early as per usual and directly opposite our office door was this spider that had weaved a web that looked like a perfect X. The spider had weaved the usual web which was hardly visible as the X shape stood out so clearly. I have never seen a web like this before and have no idea the kind of spider it is and if this is the typical web it usually creates. Maybe a spider person can inform us all

I am going way back to just before Christmas and we had our Christmas celebration for the kids. The dancing competition is always hotly contested and the following is of the Beat Boy challengers. Break dancing is very popular about Ubon, I remember it being huge in Australia in the 80’s

Well as I briefly said, doing a complete clean out of your computer is a bigger job than many of us probably think. It has been a lot harder than I thought. But I am now enjoying a computer that is fast and uncluttered.

In the afternoon the kids had an hour of swimming time before the final activity of the day took place. I had been over and seen the chaos going on in the swimming pool, when I went back to the room where the foreign teachers were preparing food for the kids and told them what was going on, Mr. A wanted in on the action

Ban Mahachai school Surin province is a small school of 95 students. The school is close to the Cambodian border and is a poor area.

On Saturday just gone we had our English Fun Camp. The sign was incorrect which was very amusing for the start of the day; they must have thought we were coming last month.

A motorcycle trip to the Mae Sa waterfalls was the first daytrip we shared with my Thai boyfriend exactly eight years ago. I have been reluctant to return ever since. Now that I eventually did, I am looking for familiar landmarks - a rock, a pool of water, a twisted branch, something that may remember me and my footprint, but everything seems new, unfamiliar, as if I have never been here.

There has been some interesting news late today. I had to teach last period and when I walked into the teacher’s room there was a flurry of conversation going on.
