Early on Sunday morning, thousands of lay people from Bangkok and the surrounding provinces, came together to give alms to an estimated 12,600 monks. The event took place along Ratchadamri Road in front of Central World. About 800 meters of the road from Ratchaprasong Intersection and towards Pratunam was closed to traffic.
6th annual Tsunami Memorials held at Kamala and Patong, Phuket On the 6th anniversary of the terrible tsunami which hit Phuket, other Andaman provinces and Asian countries on Sunday 26 December 2004, resulting in the loss of thousands of people including some of my closest friends, I went to witness and join in two memorials held in Phuket on Sunday 26 December 2010. The Japanese Association's Tsunami memorial ceremony was held in the morning at the black marbled Japanese Monument, in the shaded garden of Sunwing Resort, on Kamala Beach, attended by the Japanese Ambassador, President of Japanese Association in Thailand. President of the Phuket Japanese Association, Secretary-General of the World Fellowship of Buddhists, with prayers by traditional Buddhist priests from Japan and somber laying of wreaths & flowers by Japanese and Thai local officials, residents, and tourists. The 'Light up Phuket' memorial was held in the afternoon and dusk at Loma (Dolphin) Park, in Patong, with an exhibition of Tsunami artwork, drawings and paintings in competitions for Thais of all ages with presentations of prizes by a Phuket Vice Governor, CEO of Phuket Provincial Administration & President of Phuket Tourism Association
The Phuket International Blues Rock Festival 2010 set a record in attendance and musicianship. Presented for the first time by THAI Airways International and hosted again by the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Beach Resort and Spa, the festival was officially opened by Phuket Vice Governor Smith Palawatwichai who gave a short speech on the importance of Blues and western music in Thailand . The 2 night event saw many famous musicians 2 of whom we would like to show now performing on stage. For the fifth year Rich Harper brought his brand of original and classic blues to delight the fans including this track 'Blue Eyed Blues'. 
The mass red shirt rallies organized to topple the Thai government have now started. Today, red shirts from provinces surrounding Bangkok took part in mini rallies in their local areas. Tomorrow, they will march into Bangkok to be joined by countless thousands of red shirts from every region of Thailand for the big rally starting on Sunday.

The annual National Children’s Day for Thailand took place today. Children are considered as the most valuable resource of the country. There is a Thai saying that goes, “Children are the future of the nation, if the children are intelligent, the country will be prosperous.” To help stimulate children to be aware of their significant role in the country, the National Children’s Day was held for the first time on the first Monday of October 1955 and continued like this until 1963.
