Sorry to regular readers as I have lost motivation to write as much as I used to. Many times I have sat in front of the computer with plans to rant and rave or share something about my ordinary life, but end up doing something else. I wish all readers who read regularly or accidentally stumble upon Isaan Style a happy 2012 and may it be whatever you hope or wish for.

We had the Thai festival Loi Krathong the other week and there were some pictures on the camera that Miss Noot had taken so I thought I would upload them. Miss Benjawan was going to lead the parade for her village. She won Miss Noppamas Queen a few years back for the village and was helping out again

To all the readers of Isaan Style, well the three or 4 people that sometimes drop by. I am happy to report that I will be taking a sabbatical for a while. I don’t know how long it will be and it could be forever we will just have to wait and see. Chilly Nights Have Arrived Isaan Thailand.

The weather has turned bloody cold here in north east Thailand, well it is cold. In the blink of an eye nights are crisp and the need for air-conditioning or even just a fan is not needed.

National Tests Thailand. Are They Too Hard?

The other day I was sitting in my office when an English teacher from primary 6 dropped in to see me. She has asked me to check some tests for her. Not tests she had compiled, but tests from NIETS (The National Institute of Educational Testing Service). Each year students in primary 6 and also secondary 9 and 12 have to do these national tests in a range of subjects

I returned home and found Noot’s mother was visiting and was outside euthanizing some frogs by whacking them on the head a few times and then skinning them and ripping their guts out. I missed these pictures sadly as I was a little slow changing. But this is what is left after skinned and washed, delicious Isaan frogs. I am not sure what these mushrooms are called, in Thai they are “เห็ดละโหว Het Lanaw” and are a very sweet and delicious mushroom
