Kindness or Tough Love, Which Should Be Used, Thailand.

I was reading an interesting article in the Bangkok Post today and you can read here titled, IF Kindness is a Crime . It is about a subject that has been written about and also discussed to death for years but continues to be a problem. The article starts with a passenger in a taxi (who sounds like the Dalai Lama) and they stop at a traffic light. A small girl approaches the taxi with flower garlands but the driver waves her away

How to Punish a 16yo Girl Who Made the Biggest Mistake in Her Life, Thailand.

I think anyone living in Thailand and reads newspapers or browses the English based newspapers will recognise the picture above. It created outrage and social networks raged for days after this picture was published in Thai papers.

Thais Celebrate Songkran and Forget the Death Toll, Thailand.

As most people know it is Songkran time here in Thailand. The water festival where we go and throw water for 3 days, travelling in the back of pick-up trucks and drink and toast many people for the Thai New Year. I have reported on the ridiculous death rates form road accidents over the ‘7 deadly days’ as it is known. So far after three days these figures released have been: 116 people have died

Sheila has gone to find some ice cream so I said while i was nosing through our messages i would do an old entry! We we spent the last few days on Ko Samui and it was fabulous, we were staying in the Utopia apartments. Nothing wrong with the place but the AC was a bit on the chilly side. Sheila woke at one stage during the night and saw me wrapped in a scarf, she presumed she was dreaming, she wasn't! I had a good sleep once i wrapped up! Anyway we headed out here yesterday Ko tao and we are staying in the Freedom beach resort. Its a secluded resort with a private beach and we are like two lesbians up there on the cliff top cottage and freedom my **** you would need a helicoptor to find the nearest shop.

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Phuket, Thailand by TravelPod blogger 2010adventure titled "Phuket: G'Day Mr 7 Eleven and Mrs Elephant" 2010adventure's travel blog entry: "Hi everyone James here hope things are ok back in sunny old England. Phuket is situated just off the coast from Krabi, we began our trip to the island in what we thought would be a short nicely air conditioned mini bus with nothing but comfort for 2-3hrs, how very wrong we were, lets just say the mini bus we got was full to the brim with other traverlers and me and Lauren drew the short staw and had to ride shot gun with the driver (Who had not heard of deodorant) all the way, with me perched on the buddie seat in the middle, we reckon by the end of this trip we will definitly end up with piles. But anyway all was not to bad with the journey, we eventually got into Phuket but had to make a pit stop at the travel companies office before we got to our destination, as we got off the bus a lady told us that we were the only two going to Phuket town and the driver did not know that area so they were arranging a car for us to take us to the hostel (Just our luck) however 10 mins later a big luxury car turned up with huge (soft on the buttocks) cream leather seats and tv's in the head rests pulled up and said he was taking us to our hostel, so the journey had a happy ending after all.

Road Rage and Losing Face in Thailand.

Here in Thailand, much like across the world, road rage is becoming more prevalent in society. In Australia there are many road rage incidents reported everyday as people seem to be in such a rush and are very impatient to get anywhere. In Phuket, another German has been killed; he was apparently cut off by teenagers on their motorbike.

More Edith Clampton & Readers’ Responses

(Would be extremely difficult to get these two mixed up - but Mrs Clampton did) Due to the positive feedback from the last blog “The Legendary Edith Clampton (Mrs)” , I think it’s only fair to write up a part 2 and include some of the readers’ responses – some of which are in concern to Edith’s complaints in the first blog, so you may have to look back. I’m sure you’ll have to agree, this is the Bangkok Post at its editorial best. Not Up to Scratch (reader’s response) from first blog SIR: My company subscribes to the Bangkok Post which I read every morning. I look forward to reading Post Bag as it often provides insight into the thoughts of the expatriate community and certain sectors of Thai society.

Thai Sport Day and Marching, Isaan Thailand.

Our sport day had arrived, and the students had worked hard overnight. I spoke to one of the students from year 11 and he told me that he hasn’t been home, that he and his other classmates slept at the school finishing everything off and getting ready for the parade. Apparently they got 2 hours sleep at the most.

Banana boat at Cha-Am beach, Thailand

Banana boat at Cha-Am beach, Thailand
This boat recently arrived in Thailand beaches. An exciting water activities equipment. A motor cycle in water pulls the boat at a great speed while 6-8 people sit in it. After 8-10 minutes water ride in the sea, the driver of the boat turned and force the banana boat people fall in the water.

Criminals with Piss Poor Excuses, Australia.

Picture taken by Fiona Hamilton Source Herald Sun Newspaper These sorts of people disgust me, and there are plenty of them across Australia and the world. The gutless cowards always after the fact of committing a crime become remorseful and make up the most pathetic excuses for some halfwit, dimwitted judge to make an erroneous judgment. Like this case that has pissed me off. This is from the Herald Sun Newspaper in Australia.
