A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand by TravelPod blogger Joannec titled "Feeling Krabi" Joannec's travel blog entry: "A nasty day, and some very choppy seas took me to Krabi. It was a big ferry boat, but having been told that a big ferry capsized there recently in bad weather, I was still more than a bit nervous! Made it on one piece anyway. Was heading for the resort of Ao Nang and thought I was being smart by taking a boat to the town of Krabi rather than to Ao Nang directly as it left earlier so I thought I'd be there earlier. Wrong! Once I'd taken into account the arguing with taxi drivers who wanted to charge me a stupid amount of money, it wasn't quicker and 2 bus rides later I finally arrived in Ao Nang

We ended up having to drive the van up on a tow truck where they then backed up and dropped us down on the ferry. It turns out some other bigger boat parked in their spot so they had to call in a tow truck to get us on.

This coach was the most comfortable I have been on in my life. There was complementary water, a blanket (absolutely necessary because the bus drivers try to keep the passengers cryogenically frozen for the duration of the ride), and the seats reclined almost flat. The bus even shuttled us through customs (there is a 500m gap between Malay and Thai customs)

"The scale of prostitution in Pattay is overwhelming. The first night we walked along the main strips, from 'walking street' along 'beach road' where hundreds of women lined the benches waiting for customers. I guessed we saw about 1000 women that first night, and i thought that was immense. In fact, there are 20000 people working in prostitution in this city.

My Niece Nong Ja, Isaan Thailand.

This is the girl that keeps me sane, well also drives me a little crazy at times but I love her death. Nong Ja has been such a huge influence on Noot and my life as we have brought her up.

We flew out of Kuala Lumpur at 6:55am, so we could arrive in Penang bright and early as we read there were many things to do on this island. After checking into our hotel and having some breakfast, we decided to begin sight-seeing right away since we had less than 2 days in the city. We stayed in the main city, Georgetown, which was supposed to be alive with action and have many things to do. We read that the beach town in Penang had very dirty water, infected with jellyfish, and the Thailand beaches are preferred in Southeast Asia for vacations
