Thailand’s women’s volleyball team made a big surprise as they beat China 3-1 in the final to win the 15th Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship, held at the Quan Ngua Sport Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam yesterday. In a nail-biting match, Thailand came back from one set down to take their first-ever victory over volleyball powerhouse China with scores of 20-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-23 in the final of the 16-team tournament. One of the oldest markets in Thailand that is still operating is the Bang Phli Riverside Market in Samut Prakan. It was first started by Chinese traders back in the 1850’s. This now makes it older than 150 years. The original name for the market is “Talad Siri Sopon”
