I have been having a lot of fun of late reading about a foreigner living in Pattaya, who seems to be a huge scam artist from what I have read the last few days. It all started when I was reading a website I really like called Pattaya Days .
I always get a very good laugh from reading the Thai newspapers. I am often left shaking my head at stories but always put it down to, “This is Thailand” or TIT. One such story was in today’s Bangkok Post , it’s a crap paper like the other English language newspaper The Nation but every now and then you get a gem of a story like this. The heading was, “ 100 Escaped Crocodiles ‘Not Fierce’”
Today I was reading another very well written column in The Bangkok Post about Thai education. I don’t claim to be a qualified teacher, never have and never will as I do not have a degree in education. I like many other foreign nationals are like this, with degrees in other fields, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) certificates and so on. Many of us may not be a perfect teacher, and we make mistakes, but I am sure even super teachers do, but I do hope that the majority of us foreign teachers try their best for the kids they are meant to be educating
Now if you cannot be bothered scrolling through the tripe I have written, just whip down to the last video and watch as it is piss funny to me. Michael Bolton , most people will know this name. I actually don’t mind his voice and remember way back to the days of his long flowing curly locks, way back when he sang ‘How Am I supposed To Live Without You and When A Man Loves A Woman’ to name just two.

One of the latest tourist attractions to open in Thailand is Madame Tussauds Bangkok. This is a world-class attraction in the heart of Bangkok’s shopping district on the 6th floor of Siam Discovery. I went to visit this place back in December 2010 shortly after its grand opening. I have already written my review of Madame Tussauds Bangkok .
This is quick video tour of the accommodations Zack and I had in one of our last nights in Thailand during our winter 2010 trip. This hotel room was in the city of Cha-Am, Thailand. Total cost for the room (including free transportation to and from the local transit center) was a $20 total=600 Baht ($10 per person). I want to thank my good mate Vern, over at Thaipulse.com for sending me this link. I hadn’t read this story because my computer gave up the go yesterday and I had to put in a new power source this afternoon and now I am back to normal again. If you are a long time reader then you know what I do here in Thailand, a teacher at a private school. I have had a few ups and downs along the way and complained about the Thai school system that I still have so much trouble getting my head around things at times
I wrote about an Irish / Australian Conor David Purcell who got involved with the red shirts recently in Bangkok and was filmed on the stage addressing the red shirt protestors. He caused a bit of a stir and many people I spoke to said that he just doesn’t think before doing things. I then wrote about him being arrested , over a visa problem at first but then held on other charges for violating the emergency degree
It is a sad and embarrassing when I see on the front page of The Bangkok Post’s internet site an apparent Australian (Irish born) and also claiming to be an ex soldier is taking to the stage with speeches to the red army of followers. There are many suspicious things in this article about Conor David Purcell, who has no money, surviving of his friends and the Thais giving him handouts. The article says, “a former Australian military reservist”
I was reading a story that there are apparently a lot of non government groups that are calling on the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), to stop Thailand’s infamous “Aids temple” - Wat Phrabat Namphu - from displaying corpses of “Aids patients” and “Such information about the dangers of risky lifestyles.” What infamous temple are they talking about? I had to start ‘Googling’ and 5 plus hours later I now know about this temple. I will go into this more later and what the newspaper is complaining about.
I am no greenie, I am no angel. I am not a vegan. What am I on about, you must be thinking?
I read a lot of newspapers, from home in Australia, America, Britain and of course Thailand. Some times you read a ‘header’ that you just have to click on to investigate what the story is about.
