Exploring Ban Sakhla

(Click here to read about the boat trip to Sakhla) Sakhla Village (ban sakhla), in Phra Samut Chedi District of Samut Prakan, dates back to the late Sukhothai period. Its original name was "Ban Sao Kla" which refers to the women of the area that bravely fought off the Burmese invaders. The local people were originally rice farmers but switched to salt farming about 40 years ago

Kerri Feeds an ElephantHonestly one of the most amazing things I've done in my life. This footage comes from Baan Chang elephant park in Chiang Mai province in Thailand. They rescue elephants from hard working conditions and provide them with a happy, restful life here at Baan Chang. This morning we were giving them snacks of sugar cane and bananas (which don't need peeling) :) The baby elephants were intentionally dropping the sugar cane so we would have to give them more. It was adorable and cheeky. It was not long after this that we are lunch, and had time to chill out in hammocks. It was then that I decided it was a good idea to go over and hang with the elephants again and this happened: youtu.be Despite the way my day at Baan Chang ended, I still cherish the memories I made that morning with those elephants. They are majestic and so so gentle. I highly recommend you visit this elephant park if you're in or around Chiang Mai. www.baanchangelephantpark.com
